Petr Vosmík is new E.H.C. interim Board member
Petr Vosmik, the CEO of Czech top club Sparta Prague, is the new interim E.H.C. Board member representing the Czech clubs. He succeeds Barbora Snopková Haberová.
When Barbora Snopková Haberová left Sparta Prague, the Alliance of European Hockey Clubs held a by-election to fill the Czech position on the E.H.C. board. The Czech member clubs voted by majority to name Petr Vosmík as Board member ad interim, until the next E.H.C. General Meeting on 12 June in Prague.
As usual, the E.H.C. General Meeting is held in connection with the E.H.C. European Hockey Awards ceremony, scheduled for 11 June.
Petr Vosmík assumed the role of HC Sparta Prague one year ago. At 52, he is still active as a “hobby player” in the Czech fifth division and has a background in real estate, where he has been on the board of the KAPRAIN Investment Group — the owner of HC Sparta — for the last nine years.
Vosmík is a graduate of the International Leadership Institute at the University of North Florida and Nottingham Trent University in business and administration.
For the past 20 years, Vosmík has been on various levels in sports management, including on the board of Sparta Prague since 2020. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Association of the Czech Professional Clubs (APK).
“I am honoured to accept this position on behalf of the Czech clubs,” said Vosmík. “Although the Alliance has come a long way since its founding some 10 years ago, there is still much to accomplish for the clubs on the international scene.”
As per E.H.C. statutes, an interim Board member will hold the position until the next E.H.C. General Meeting when the membership will formally elect a Board for the next term, 2024-2026.
