ONLINE TUTORIAL: Tap into the potential of data
In the first online tutorial of 2025 presented by the Alliance of European Hockey Clubs, Oliver Wohak and Robin Schürmann presentation is titled: “GENERATE A COMPETITIVE EDGE FOR YOUR CLUB - TAP INTO THE POTENTIAL OF DATA”
In the dynamic world of hockey, the wealth of data available to clubs has never been greater, impacting various aspects such as game analysis, scouting, fan engagement, and marketing. Despite this abundance of data, many clubs have yet to harness its full potential. With the advent of cost-effective modern cloud solutions, data management and computational power are now accessible to all clubs. In this talk, Robin and Oliver will present approaches to developing tailored, internalized solutions that address the unique needs and aspirations of individual hockey clubs, leveraging these cutting-edge technologies to enhance performance and engagement according to your specific needs.
Oliver Wohak is head of d-fine's sports analytics teams. He has 10 years of experience in conducting digitalization projects around data analytics in various sectors.
Robin Schürmann, PhD, is responsible for hockey analytics at d-fine. He's an expert in business analysis and operationalizing data analytics and data science use cases.
Based on their experience in developing business-driving and data-driven solutions in sports as well as large corporations, Oliver and Robin will highlight how the availability and relevance of data in sports has grown in the past years and how clubs can utilize this to their competitive advantage.
