Fredrik Jönsson named new Project Manager Marketing & Events at E.H.C.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden—As Caroline Jonsson officially assumes the position of Managing Director of the Alliance of European Hockey Clubs (E.H.C.) on November 1, 2024, succeeding Szymon Szemberg, Fredrik Jönsson, from Hudiksvall – located three hours north of Stockholm – will take over her previous role as Project Manager Marketing & Events.

“Fredrik brings extensive and long-standing experience in the business of hockey, particularly in event management. His role will be essential in maintaining the high standards and reputation of our flagship events, including the E.H.C. Hockey Business Forum and Fenix Outdoor European Hockey Awards,” says Caroline Jonsson, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Alliance.”

Fredrik’s primary responsibilities will include planning and executing the signature events, the European Hockey Awards and the annual Business Forum, as well as managing relationships with E.H.C partners.

Fredrik holds a B.B.A. in Sports Marketing from Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida, U.S.

The 52-year-old Swede has extensive experience on the commercial side, including event management, client relations, and B-2-C, on the club level at Florida Panthers, Frölunda Hockey, and Hudik Hockey (a tier 3 club in Sweden). In addition, for a few years, he ran his own consulting company, Nordic Sports Marketing, and worked in sports betting in London.
